When beds have used up their useful life, the problem that usually ensues is how to properly dismantle and get rid of them. While we can always place them outside our homes and wait for the garbage people to take them away, this guy found one good way to make sure that it is indeed trashed. If you want to cut cost you could nail the slats in place by hand using small finishing nails. Any standard Queen (60×80), California King (72×84), or Eastern King (76×80) size mattress will rest on the supportive slats in this platform bed. The slats rest 2 inches (5 cm) below the top edge of the bed. This will snugly hold your mattress in place. The height from the floor to the top of the bed platform is 16 inches (41 cm). The width of the rails adds 6 inches (15 cm) all the way around.
