Teaching Babies the ABC’s of Furniture Familiarity
0 Comments Published by brian yalung July 31st, 2008 in BED FUN, BED Furniture, BED Home, BED Kids, BED News, Baby, Bed Designs.Turning to visual aids to help educate a child is one thing you will notice in any nursery. While we look at posters that make use of animals or objects that are easily associated to a certain letter, here is something that associates the alphabet with furniture images.
Ideally this may sound like a different way to teach children associating their ABC’s with the standard characters we know of today. But if it works, it can help a child easily distinguish the various furniture designs and images that they normally see in their homes from beds to sofas.

As you are well aware, we spend a lot of time looking for great nursery decor, especially when it comes to alphabet posters. I think that this one by Italian graphic designer Francesco Dondina makes an interesting addition. A father of two, Dondina is also a professor of visual communication at the Design Faculty of the Politecnico in Milan. At $13, this gem is quite a steal.

La-Z-Boy with Ergonomic Handles
0 Comments Published by brian yalung July 31st, 2008 in Chairs, Sofa Bed, sofas and futons.Reclining on your La-Z-Boy may not be as comfortable most of the time and while the name itself seems to make a person do less, perking them up for makeovers and added features such as handles wouldn’t hurt. Besides, when you find yourself relaxing comfortably, finding the proper help to get up or move from one position to another may need minor assistance such as handles which provide a new look as well from the popular reclining La-Z-Boy that any person would want to have in his home.

“The traditional recliner handle symbolizes La-Z-Boy and the comfort associated with our furniture,” said Doug Collier, chief marketing officer for La-Z-Boy. “This new twist on the iconic La-Z-Boy handle offers customers the ability to modernize their reclining furniture with a sleek, contemporary addition.”
The new ergonomic handle, known as the “Arc,” lives up to its name with a swooping arc shape. A brushed metal coating adds durability to the handle and protects its sleek silver finish from scratches.

Tufted Headboard - Chocolate - Skyline Furniture
1 Comment Published by HomeAndBedroom July 31st, 2008 in BED Accesorries, BED Frame, BED Furniture, Bedroom.
You’re searching for something unique for your bedroom, but you’re not sure exactly what you want to get. This is often a problem people have when they’re looking for bedroom furniture, as they want something that suits them but that is not too eccentric or “strange”. Here are a few tips to help you to choose a headboard that suits you.
-
If you like metal, go with metal. Do not feel that you have to choose a wood headboard just because all of your family members own them. Metal headboards can be beautiful and come in a variety of designs. They also last for a very long time and are built to withstand serious damage.
-
Don’t look at the price at first. Limiting yourself by price can prevent you from looking at beautiful headboards. Instead, look at the designs first, and then the price. There are inexpensive headboards in every design that are easily affordable.
-
Don’t ignore tufted headboards. Tufted headboards, such as the Tufted Headboard in Chocolate by Skyline Furniture, may seem like an older style at first, but when used right in your bedroom, they can make a startling impact. For instance, if you were to use the Tufted Headboard in Chocolate in a room that has a lot of white and bright colors in it, it would stand out beautifully.
-
Always be true to what you like. It doesn’t matter if your bedroom pieces match exactly, just make sure you get pieces that you like. After all, you’re the one living in it!

Duty Pillow Sets

A parent is never off duty (so to speak) however everyone needs a little respite. That’s why I really liked this reversible Pillowcase Set for new parents, which are 100% cotton. Each pillowcase is embroidered with “OFF DUTY” on one side, and “ON DUTY” on the other.

Here is a fun way to brighten up those dreary mornings. The on and off cup highlights how vital the ubiquitous black coffee is to our systems. As soon as your pour coffee or a hot beverage in the cup, the “off” changes to “on” and the mug also changes it color.
