It provides an excellent support with the series of slates in that mattress sits. At the mean time, allowing air to circulate within the mattress and providing better sleeping atmosphere. It works perfectly with any type of spring coil mattress, foam, natural latex mattress, or futon. Box spring is not necessary for this piece of bed. The bed comes in warm teak wood and espresso brown finish.
