I am an interior designer and just furnished a bedroom for a client using all IKEA furniture. This was one of the worst hassles I had ever encountered. His selections were not available online. We only had the option of going to the store, which is 2 1/2 hours away with about $25+ in tolls. We took 2 trips, the first by car and the second with a gas guzzling truck to take the selections home. The issue in ordering beds from IKEA is that there are many components to choose, then they must be located in the warehouse, and not all parts are available in store or online. The customer service rep we worked with gave us bad info, resulting in my customer being forced to order a bed base that was not even close to the one he wanted and he had to pay $100 for shipping, when that same cheap base could have been purchased in the store. The service rep also told me a spring mattress could bend on an adjustable base. Wow, I called him out on that one. In the end the bedroom looks great, but the experience was horrible - not a good when doing business.
