Dorm Room Tip: Consider a Paint Job

by brian yalung on Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Living in luxury does not always have to be expensive. In fact, if you put your mind to it, you can come up with wise temporary dormitory designs without worrying about asking money from your folks to purchase the furniture you may need. But if you are creative, there are other ways.

One of them is to consider a paint job. You or a friend of yours may have the talent to shine that dull dorm room and make it as convenient to live on as possible for the duration of your schooling. At least the only cost you have to worry about would be the paint and the materials to be used right?

  • FYI and a small word of caution:

Not all dorm halls and colleges allow painting inside the actual dorm room. A good first step would be to check with your Resident Director regarding the rules and regulations of decorating and painting.

Checking first doesn't take a lot of front-end time or hassle but could be a lifesaver on the back-end frustration level.

    Keep up the good work.
