Are Air Purifiers Useful?

The air we breath is important. But these days, we cannot avoid the fact that we need some filters or elements to help screen the air we breathe. Air purifiers have since been introduced in the market, first coming out in the health care places and then making its way into our homes. The price of air purifiers are practically in the same price range as portable air conditioners although their main purpose is to purify the air in a room.

But the question is are they needed? Do they really serve a purpose? There has been talk that they are not good for us mainly because they contain ozone which is not safe for humans and may eventually pollute homes.

When the EPA did studies on ozone air purifiers what they found was surprising – the molecules were breaking down and adhering themselves to any other molecule in the room creating new and unstable chemicals in amounts they could not even measure. They tested the claim that ozone would “neutralize” chems in things like brand new carpet and found it made even worse chems then they started with
