Rekindle the Old Magic of Old Furniture

by brian yalung on Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Having various kinds of furniture that may have been around for quite some time will eventually lose its luster due to years of wear and tear or even probable neglect. But while they may seem to be falling apart, furniture can be reborn with the right practice such as a new paint job or perhaps help from the pros who know how to bring back the sparkle and even come up with something better.

Such is a talent that you can leave to the pros. Specialists such as Jamie Ward have this hobby and if you have some old furniture lying around which you are planning to dispose of, back up a bit. Check out what they have to offer. It can save you a lot of money and perhaps give you something better than buying new furniture ideas in the market.

Dusty old furnishings often receive a second life with fresh upholstery and a new coat of paint, but rarely do we have the patience or skill to repurpose parts and fashion an entirely new piece of furniture. Jamie Ward, a design student in Manchester, England, takes cast off chairs and tables, deconstructs them, and rebuilds them into exceptional examples of functional art.

Old furniture can have a real charm of its own. However, renovation is not always done in a tasteful way. I have seen some real horrors when renovating old furniture because people have tried to mix a trendy new style that stifles the character of the age that the furniture was designed and built in.
