Using Twitter for Room Light Control

Ok here is something neat from Justin Wickett. With the proper connections, a mobile phone can send a simple text message to a computer and turn off the lights. Well, it’s an innovative way of trying to innovate your light controls but the fact remains that the idea is really something to consider.

Using Twitter, a new social networking site, you can set up your laptop and connect it to your light switches (or any other electrical device) and control the device by sending text messages to your twitter account. It’s a fairly simple setup using this software which controls this hightech lightswitch (which is suprisingly affordable)
