Schlage LiNK Allows You to Unlock Remotely

Here is a great innovation as far as home security is concerned. At times, you cannot avoid instances when someone from your family leaves their keys or perhaps goes home unexpectedly with no one to open the door for them. Add to the fact that is just so happens that you are not at home so where is your child to go?

Well thanks to Schlage technology, Schalge LiNK now allows you to open the door locks via the Internet or cell phone.

The system works by using the kit’s wireless bridge to interpret encrypted commands from the Internet, then transmitting those commands wirelessly to modules throughout the home. Anything from the front door lock to climate control and lighting can be configured in this way. Everything can be controlled via smartphone or standard web browser.

One door lock and a lamp module is going to set you back $300. That’s doable, but then comes the dealbreaker: A $13 a month subscription to their LiNK web service to control it all. We’ll pass, but the technology is cool.
