Homes need all the fresh air they can get but as far as live plants are concerned, it seems that you are bringing in more than just freshness. Plants are prone to carrying germs and insects and we all know for a fact that they are breeding grounds for potential insects that may become entirely hazardous to the people inside a home.
With that said, would you place live plants in your home? Some do but as miniature as possible. Others have turned to plastic plants but these are more on increasing the ambiance level and not for any natural means.
Going back to natural plants, they do help traffic freshness in homes. However, if you are among the people who would prefer to have them in homes, a good thing to do is to apply the proper preventive maintenance measures such as applying minimal amounts of insecticide and watering them occasionally.
Keep them at a minimum. With fewer plants in your home, the lesser worries you have to deal with particularly when it comes to known diseases carried by mosquitoes like Dengue and Typhoid Fever which are growing rampant today anywhere.
