This looks more like a toy so better keep the kids away from it. It is really an alarm clock in disguise which makes use of the usual train and rail crossing noises, something that should get you up and about depending on the time you need to wake up.
The only problem is that Japan may be the only place to get them by next year. Though the manufacturers, Banpresto, may opt to offer it as well online or via shipping, this classic-looking alarm clock is bound to be something people would want; not necessarily for sleeping but rather for something to have in their bedroom that is sure to be a hit.
