Beds Recalled for Strangling Hazards

For parents who have the Pirates of the Caribbean Twin Trundle Bed, read on. If at first you thought that this was a great bedroom solution for your kids, it actually has an entrapment issue and may be a potential strangling hazard to your child if you don’t supervise them regularly.
Actually, it is the lid case of the toy chest that comes with these Pirates of the Caribbean Twin Trundle Beds that is the real hazard. The lid closes quickly and with children unaware of it while they want to get toys, it can pose some forgettable experiences for families who have them in their homes.
The Pirates of the Caribbean Twin Trundle Bed comes with a pre-assembled toy chest in the shape of a ship’s bow, which is attached to the bed as a footboard. It features a hardwood top, a brown wood base with decorative carvings and a mock steering wheel.
“The lid supports on the toy chests fail to prevent the lid from closing too quickly, posing an entrapment and strangulation hazard to young children,” said Health Canada.
