BED warmer

BED warmer 2

Check out this DIY for instructions on making your own bed warmer pillow.

First, a note on flammability. Ruthanne left a comment on my original bedwarmer post to the effect that you should microwave these things with a cup of water in the microwave so they don’t catch on fire. I heartily endorse that. I’m also strongly suggesting that you use 100% cotton thread & fabric for the rice pillow insert so that you’re not microwaving polyester, because lord knows what could happen with that. And finally, I’m going to suggest that you prewash your fabric to get all of the formaldehyde and other nasty chemicals that fabrics get treated with, because I feel like you probably don’t want those in the microwave either. Because eeeew, at best, and poisonous chemical fire at worst. Since only the rice pillow will go into the microwave, though, you can make the cover out of any of flammable stuff you want.
