Don’t let the bed bugs bite!

by Max on Friday, May 18th, 2007

Seriously now. From this news source:

“A few years ago I wasn’t seeing anyone with bed bug bites. Now it’s common.” Levin said. In the past few months, 30 to 50 patients have sought help at the family-medical office alone, the doctor said.

Well, bed bugs are not known to transmit diseases, thankfully. But the constant itching and scratching can be intolerable, or worse,  it can aggravate skin conditions.

Bed bug facts:
- it takes bed bugs less than three minutes to “enjoy”  a full meal. Full meal being – sucking blood from your skin.
- they also feed on animals
- it takes them 3 months to live without food.
- aside from the bed, they can also be found in other areas, like crevices. Bed bugs prefer a warm environment.
- bed bugs are smelly. In fact, they bring out a rancid odor.
- bed bugs do not have wings but you transport them from sleeping and staying in other apartments or hotels and even the movie house.
