IKEA Not Part of CPSC Blind and Shade Recall
There was a huge recall on roman style shades and roll-up blinds by the Consumer Safety Protection Commission and Window Covering Council last December 15 but IKEA US is not part of it. They had already voluntarily recalled all their roman blinds last month while the IKEA MELINA blinds were recalled as early as August 25, 2009. There are no roman blinds sold over at IKEA stores at present.
Also, IKEA does not sell any roll-up blinds in its US stores. Customers who may still have IKEA blinds IRIS, ALVINE or MELINA in their homes are encouraged to return them to their local IKEA store for a refund.
