More Mattresses Up West
It has always been an issue to some folks when the need to identify where beds and mattresses can be bought. Perhaps this is what Mattress Firm had in mind when it decided to buy out its competitors and in turn take the initiative to expand and reach out to the sleeping target market it is catering to.
This acquisition of the 53-location chain marks the retailer’s eighth and largest acquisition of 2007 and moves Mattress Firm ahead of Select Comfort as the nation’s second-largest mattress retailer.
Mattress Firm has added more than 100 locations through acquisitions in the past year, not including the 53 Mattress Gallery locations. This is in addition to planned organic growth of more than 40 new Mattress Firm stores through the remainder of 2007.
