Shirred Border Headboard – Parchment – Skyline Furniture

by Max on Monday, July 21st, 2008

When most people begin the search for a headboard, they almost always have a wood or metal variety in mind. These have become the popular items in terms of bedroom furniture. That, however, leaves out one very important type of headboard: the upholstered headboard. Back in the 1960’s and a bit earlier, upholstered headboards were all the rage. Designers would take old wooden headboards and cover then in beautiful fabrics, not only as a way to make a statement, but also as a way to save money. These headboards, however, became unpopular a bit later on.

Upholstered headboards, when used in the right situations, can be beautiful additions to a bedroom. They can give a luxurious feel that no wood or metal headboard could ever accomplish, no matter how detailed they were. Upholstered headboards, especially those covered in a light fabric, can bring not only warmth into a room, but also decadence.

The Shirred Border Headboard in parchment color by Skyline Furniture is an upholstered headboard that looks as though it belongs in a royal bedroom somewhere. This beautiful headboard is made using Shantung fabric. The frame is created with pine wood and is padded with foam to make it not only pretty, but comfortable to lean against as well. If the light color doesn’t suit you, you can choose from eight other delicious colors, all made using the finest quality fabrics and materials and all are perfectly suited to make your bedroom look, and feel, like the most relaxing room in the house.
