With logic and practicality after mergers and acquisitions have come into play, it is almost automatic to find that some companies will dwindle down operations towards a more feasible manner of operations to save on costs and eliminate redundancy in work.
The same holds true for people who find themselves working for mattress companies such as Spring Air Mattress. While them merger was supposedly aimed for a good cause, it cannot be denied that there will come a point where the majority partner will have to put executive decisions into play.
Such was the move resorted by Spring Air Mattress:
“Spring Air Co. said Thursday it will close its Birmingham mattress facility as part of a streamlining plan.
Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based Spring Air said the Jefferson County plant will close in the next 60 days and that a regional sales force based in Birmingham will be shifted to Atlanta.”
