Hi Bedzine:
Having published Futon Life (an industry trade magazine) for almost twenty years I’ve seen it all four or five times.
The “Wing” futon bed was introduced by Innovation, DK as The Puzzle, since the back folded down into the seat like a puzzle piece to make the bed/sleep surface. They still serve up several updated versions on their website.
