We simply love the Tooth Fairy Pillow as it pays homage to a myth we all have grown up with. You can easily made the pillow at home and this makes a great gift for (or with) a loose-toothed child.

Supplies and Cutting Fabric
You will need: 2 – 8″ x 8″ square pieces of fabric (Note: it’s really cute if you use two contrasting patterns) 1 – 4″ x 4″ piece of colored felt (to use as pocket) 1 – small piece of white felt cut in the shape of a tooth (approximately 3″ tall by 2.5″ wide) 10-12″ piece of ribbon to use as hanger for pillow Scissors Needle and embroidery floss (white, brown, blue, or colors of your choice) Pinking shears are optional but add a nice finish to the edge of the pocket. Sewing machine or needle and thread to hand sew. Step One: Cut out your fabric. So you have 2 (even) 8″ squares. I mark mine with a marker and a ruler but you might want to use chalk or a pencil if you’re working with light colors.

How To: Make a Pillow with Corded Trim

If you want to give an old pillow of yours a makeover then we have just the right post for you. At Instructables, there is a post on how to make a pillow with corded trim and you can read the entire thing here.

Some excerpts:
step 1 Getting your fabric ready
Lay out your material and cut the size pillow you would like. For example mine is 18×15 inches. Don’t forget to leave a half inch or more for your seam allowance.

step 2 Getting your cording ready
Measure all 4 sides of the pillow for the length of strips and cording and allow a little extra, add them together plus an extra 2 inches. Cut 2 inch strips for cording, …

step 3 Sewing your cording
I like to baste (using a long stitch length) my cording into the strips before sewing them into my pillow. It just makes it easier.

Not a fan of patent leather as they somehow remind me of the eighties. However I don’t mind this Patent Leather Pillow since it does have a very modern vibe to it. The pillow has a poly/viscose back and feather down insert. You would have to clean it with a damp cloth though.

Alessandro Beda’s The Untitled Chair

In perhaps what best describes this yet to be named chair conceptualized by Alessandro Beda, here is an innovative way of putting a unique lounge chair to use. But to get it done, Beda will need 100 pieces of shock absorbers to make it work.

The Untitled Chair

The intent is to come up with a lounge chair similar to the LC2 Petit Comfort by Le Corbusier. If all goes well, this is something that will really be interesting. Hopefully though the shock absorbers to be used maintain the same height since no one wants to sit on a bumpy chair to gain comfort.
