Exercise is something that not too many people are quite fond about especially when they are in bed. Normally, beds that can help people with deficiencies normally in the hospitals are given specialized beds to assist them and avoid movement in times of pain. But these days, pain is not restricted to hospitals as people in homes have current problems of their own such as obesity and limited movement.

While most of us are encouraged to turn to exercise for better lives, beds pose a threat in getting it done. At times we find ourselves too lazy to get out of bed but with this new invention by surgeon Charles Filipi, this flexible exercise bed may soon be the answer to all these problems.

He says that many obese patients are required to exercise as part of their treatment. But getting them into a standing position can involve numerous staff and finding a treadmill for them to work out on can be even more time consuming.

When the patient needs to exercise, the bed slowly tips into the vertical position, planting the treadmill onto the ground ready to be used. That means a person can always access the treadmill easily, with minimal assistance from anyone else.

As far as balancing the room designs of our kids today, it is apparent that we must acknowledge that computers, gadgets and beds do not match. The main reason here is that should you put them all in one room, most kids would be found paying more attention to the technology devices rather than their bed and rest.

Girls are particularly adept at using new technology to bully one another, Mr Roberts said.

“Boys tend to bully differently than girls do,” he said. “Girls tend to be more psychological; they exclude and isolate.”

“Boys tend to forgive and forget a lot more quickly. Girls tend to hold on to things for much longer.”

But Overnewton year 10 student Kristen Goodgame said removing internet and mobile phones denied children opportunities to become better educated. She said most children were not bullied online.

“Parents should teach their kids about the dangers,” she said.

The hard times are indeed catching and apparently some of the leading bed manufacturers are not leaving a lot to be said. Linens ‘n Things, a well known bed and furniture store has filed for bankruptcy protection sending mixed signals on the fate of most businesses in the bed industry today.

Rather than take the risk, they have decided to take the safe route out. The decision is understandable and for sure a lot more will follow.

The company said the decision to file for Chapter 11 protection was driven largely by “the impact of the current economic downturn on the company’s operating performance.”

News reports put the company’s debts at $1.42 billion, with assets of $1.74 billion.

Upon the bankruptcy filing, Robert J. DiNicola has resigned as the company’s president and chief executive officer. He will, however, remain chairman of the company’s board of directors.

We all know that tanning beds have become a luxury that some people turn to. However they also have their share of problems when it comes to unforgettable experiences such as this one shared by Denise Van Outen:
