The Colago aka the Hangman Lamp is one the most positively morbid lamps I have ever come across! Not for the faint-hearted, the lamp is the brainchild of Spanish studio enPieza whose site makes an interesting read. The lamp has been handmade and materials used electric wire and iron.

The Retro Alarm Clock

Going Retro at times is something I recommend to everyone as every era has its own charm. The Retro Alarm Clock also adheres to this principle and is a great blend of the old and the new. Watch the precision gears march forward as they quietly mark minutes in this cool decor piece with a bell alarm.

Have trouble leaving your comfy bed to face the daily grind? We feel your pain as mornings are not really what they are cracked up to be. However Pandora Alarm Clock tackles this problem quite beautifully.
“Once the alarm is switched off, an animation will be laser projected onto your ceiling. After falling asleep again you will be awaken by different sounds, which make you open your eyes and look at the ceiling. Instead of showing you the time in numbers, the animation will tell you a story in a count down mode. In changing images you will see what you should be doing at different stages instead of sleeping”

I don’t know about you but to face the daily grind, I need at least a great cup of coffee right out of my to kick start the morning. Hence I loved the “Kahva” Coffee Maker. Technically Kahva is a Kashmiri tea drink, which is usually taken after a heavy meal for digestion. But that’s westernization for you!
However designer Lina Fischer gives it her own “flavor” by making the coffee maker hourglass shape.
How to use it:
1. Fill the double-coated glass container with water and put the desired amount of coffee into the upper brewing unit.
2. Bring the water to boil by using the induction powered table station or any other heating device.
3. Watch the hot water flowing upwards into the brewing unit due to the rising air-pressure. Listen to the bubbling noise and smell the aroma of coffee. Let it brew for a few minutes.
4. Switch of the heating device and watch the brewed coffee emerge in the glass container, quickly drawn back through a filter by a vacuum witch has been created by the cooling.
5. Open Kahva by turning the grip and pour some fully aromatic, mocha-style coffee directly into your cup. Enjoy!

Who knew telling time (or displaying in this case) could be so much if fun! Designer Yasser Ballemans is quite picky when it comes to time and hence the Beautiful Times Clock which shows only elected Beautiful Times.
So what exactly is defined as “Beautiful Time” by Yasser? Well by that he means digits which are mirroring (22:55), repeating (7:07), up- or countdown (12:34 or 5:43) and turning around (6:09). he clock is synchronized with a normal clock and I wonder where I can get one.

Most people today are looking for beds in terms of designs and unique styles. However, it remains that a bed can only serve its real purpose if proper sleep can be solicited from it. With the new concept that Starry Night Sleep Technology Bed brings, people now have a new way of looking at beds rather than being shown the authentic and classy designs we often get suckered into.
We are all aware that fascination for gadgets and features with beds will always become a point for consideration. But integrating such a feature to go along with our search for proper sleeping respite, Starry Night Sleep Technology Bed offers two packages in one for a good deal for bed enthusiasts.
The company plans to sell a tricked-out place of rest it calls the Starry Night Sleep Technology Bed, mattresses included. The bed, which was on display at the International Consumer Electronics Show, incorporates features like wireless Internet connectivity, an iPod dock, a surround sound speaker system, LCD projector, dual temperature controls and DVR capability.
Leggett & Platt said the bed also comes with a vibration-detection feature that will elevate that half of the bed 7 degrees if a user is snoring and then return to the original position once the snoring stops.
