Here is a weird looking clock. From the outside, you may think that this is one clock that was made by a farm boy. Add to the fact that the looks could use some improvement as far as design is concerned but the weird thing about is the bacon. I have heard of waking up to the smell of bacon but considering how sleepy heads sleep these days, I don’t know if this is practical to have.

Oh by the way, it makes pig sounds every minute so if my presumptions are correct, this could be more annoying than a solution clock to have. It could be a great gift to give though but I doubt if it can be a useful one to get you out of bed!

This has to be the weirdest clock ever made on the planet. Though it seems to be simple enough to serve its purpose as a standard desk clock, the real twist comes when you try to activate the illuminations that sort of comes close to an actual quartz clock.

There are no numbers to specify what time it really is and much is relying on how we see a clock and where the actual clock hands land. Perhaps teens would appreciate it but I doubt if the elderly people would even consider having this type of a clock in their room.

Nixie Concrete Clock

Here is a clock that may not necessarily be the ideal clock design you are looking for. But as far as making use of nixie tubes, it does seem to serve its purpose. Making use of six nixie tubes which are fitted perfectly in the concrete block provides and unorthodox way of showing you the time. Though the visualization may need some work, improvements are bound to come on as well if this device would ever be considered for purchase.

This fully functioning prototype uses vintage Z560M Nixie tubes, and it’s version 0.01 of Luxembourg designer Daniel Kurth’s Nixie Concrete idea. I doubt though if this would be recommended clock to have with little toddlers running around in the house or if you have fragile floors.

We have all heard of magnets being used in standard home appliances such as refrigerators but a clock? Well now there is in the form of this Magnet Clock which combines time and scheduling your errands in the process.

The Magnet Clock comes with various printed icons standing for something. Although many may have a hard time figuring out what they mean, you can always improvise. It may be hard at first but after some getting used to, they can really be something ideal to use.

The clock was made by Argentinean design studio, Designplus. The down side of that is that you can’t purchase the clock right now, but if it ever did get created it’d be perfect for Perpetual Kid.

Whether it is by design or something that was created to educate us on how a clock ticks, this Tube Clock Kit should be something to marvel at. This clock was created using a Russian display tube and practically contains all the usual features we see in alarm clocks needed by people today. Among the features that come with it include a volume adjustment, a snooze button, the ability to display date and time as well as being able to choose between a 12h or 24h display.

Apparently there is a catch. The clock generates high voltage current which may not be suitable if you are among the ignorant people who has a thing for tinkering and handling sophisticated pieces of equipment. But then again, for the people who want a challenge or arouse their curiosity, this kit may be ideal. It costs $70 at Lady Ada.
