Trendy and Eco-friendly Konawicz Chairs

Alternative materials used in furniture can really come up with crazy yet alluring designs such as these Konawicz chairs. They are made from fiberglass but are likewise biodegradable, making them a great fit towards people who look for eco-friendly furniture to place in their homes.
Add to that the modern designs that they come in surely entice people to want them for their own. Coming in various vivid colors, don’t be surprised if you end up wanting one as well.
“A lot of chairs I’ve seen have been made out of PVC, and they’ve said it can be made from recycled PVC itself or it can be recycled, but really recycling is a whole other process that is not earth friendly. You have to go through a lot of energy to get it recycled,” Konawicz explained. “With this process… when you’re done with the chair, it biodegrates into the earth. So there’s no waste and it doesn’t harm the earth at all, and I thought that was impressive.”

This is the way to go. Recycling is great when you have to use something that cannot be bio-degradable, but should be avoided otherwise. It’s great to see new products being made much more eco-friendly and not needing to be recycled.

As the designer of this chair, I just have a minor correction. The Pandanus Chair is made from a cellulose based material, which is created from various sources (ie. hemp, paper pulp, and other cellulose raw materials). This material has strength qualities similar to fiberglass, is non-toxic and biodegradable.
