This chair, simply called “The Furniture” may seem far off from being the comfy seating that everyone has been yearning for but thanks to the deceivingly looking neon frames, the comfort lies more on the architecture.

True enough, these chairs can easily throw you off. But thanks to the flexibility it gives whereby people can easily adjust the shape then perhaps this is where the whole issue of overall comfort steps in.

The frames are made of elastic fabric that is supported on a slanted rectangular frame to render the funky minimalist seats. The moment one sits it becomes evident the great concept behind it and how the object perfectly adapts to the contours of the back. In addition to comfort, the colorful base makes this product eye-catching and ideal for modern spaces.

Here is a home furnishing made or couch potatoes. The Sleepy Chair was designed by Daisuke Motogi Architecture and was on hand at the 2010 Tokyo Designtide show.

This is a chair made from a mattress which is folded into a concertina. The Sleepy Chair should be ideal for people who have knack of sleeping on couches, particularly the ones who are too timid to reach the bedroom or some who end up coming home drunk.

The Lost in Sofa Chair

Earlier this year, there were posts regarding the new implementation of setting up beds in planes, particularly for first class accommodation. This time around, there are plans for the architecture of a Boeing 747 that will be transformed into a Jumbo Hostel. But unlike other aircrafts that have added bed accommodations, this new concept by Oscar Dios will be mainly served on the ground.

The concept is indeed something different. We all know that cases such as delays in flight make it uncomfortable for some passengers and with this Jumbo Hostel around perhaps waiting will no longer be a problem but more of a luxury for them from hereon.

Dios bought the 500-seater jumbo jet, built in 1976, from its last owner Transjet after the air operator went bust in 2002.

The Jumbo Hostel, which will remain grounded at the airport, will begin taking reservations from travellers in December.

If the venture proves successful in Sweden, Dios hopes to open more jumbo jet hostels elsewhere.

Uffizi Bunk Bed Designs for Kids

Many of us like four poster beds, but the cumbersome drapes can sometimes turn many people off including myself. This Senegal bed (Akon’s birthplace I think Senegal?) Inspired by the architecture of the ancient cities of West Africa, this bed would be very nice for any room. I can’t think of any room that this bed cannot complement. Nice!

I can’t believe this is real. The flying beds are a reality now as it has been discovered two producers – illusionists Lago and scientists Universe Architecture. It can be rapidly assembled thanks to the wall fixing and central leg, creating the “floating effect”.

On the other hand, there is another flying bed, which should be called “magnetic floating bed” more correctly, was designed by Dutch architect Janjaap Ruijssenaars, who spent last 6 years trying to develop this wonder of science and he finally did it. The bed can carry up to 900 kilos and it simply floats on air on magnets. However, such bed is very expensive as the model alone costs 115,000 euros, while the bed itself might be around 1,200,000 euros.

I really would like to own one.

Flying Bed!

Imagine when you are asleep and the bed is hovering.. sounds spooky isn’t it? Thanks to illusionists Lago and scientists Universe Architecture, flying beds are a reality now. It is not flying technically, as its considered just floating. Technically the bed is fixed to the wall and has a central leg but I dont think my friend Mike (who weighs 130 kilos in weight) will feel safe on this bed.
