Here’s some fun weekend art installation, the rotating kitchen.  We don’t know what the purpose of this installation other than for artistic purposes (or maybe for demonstrating what happens to you kitchen in space) but certainly worth a look.

Designed by artist Zeger Reyers, the kitchen was put in motion last week at the opening of Eating the Universe at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf in Germany. Apparently, it will continue to rotate slowly for the duration.

DIY: Interactive Art With Sound!

Make wallpaper lanterns from leftover supplies and decorate your house with it.

Step 1: Start with a generously sized piece of wallpaper, in the neighborhood of 32″ (in this case, the width of the wallpaper) by 44″, and make accordion folds about 2″ deep until the whole piece is folded. Hole-punch each accordion fold on both sides, as shown here.

Step 2: Flip the paper over, and make a fold in the opposite direction of the accordion folds, as shown here (this will form the wide middle part on the finished lantern — let’s call it the “belly fold”). I placed my fold about 1/3 of the way down the paper.
