Flatheads Stem from Bed Positions
0 Comments Published by brian yalung December 2nd, 2007 in BED News, Baby.
Try to see the back of your head and most probably you may find it flat like other people who are wondering why such came to be. Well, just in case you weren’t told, the sleeping position in beds when you were a child has something to do with it. Remember, a baby’s head is one of the fragile parts of their body once they are born and most of the time, if they are sleeping in certain awkward positions, chances are they would leave a mark.
So if during your infant days you found yourself always laying flat on your back, most probably the pressure and weight when you were laid down. Sticking to one position may not always be the good and this is one reason parents try to position you even if you didn’t want to during those days. Hence due to the delicacy of your skull, this is one reason why some people end up with flatheads or uneven moldings.
(Source) You’ve counted all of your newborn baby’s tiny toes and fingers, which are all perfect. And everyone says he is the spitting image of his handsome daddy – but a few months later, you notice that his head is noticeably flat on one side. New parents should be aware of a fairly common condition called positional plagiocephaly. Since infants’ skulls are soft, it is not uncommon to have a misshapen head related to the rigors of childbirth, but this usually resolves itself within six weeks of birth. However, some infants develop this condition within the first few months of life, caused primarily by sleeping on one side.

For buyers, lowered prices and continuous mattresses offered for sale is something to their advantage. Don’t be surprised that you may get the best deals for beddings for prices that are usually reserved for good buys. But thanks to competition, most companies have to act on how to get rid of inventory at times and it is in these cases that not so old beds and mattresses have to go, even if it means sacrificing profit at times.
(Source) Americans spend $20 billion a year on sleep-related products and services, according to Business 2.0 magazine. But unit sales were up just 1 percent from January to September this year, according to the International Sleep Products Association. Total spending on bedding was up 5 percent for the same period.
