Bed Bath & Beyond Inc has posted their 2Q earnings and is happy to report a share price growth. KeyBanc Capital Markets analyst Bradley Thomas told investors in a research note that he believes the retailer faces risks in the second half of the year.

“(Bed Bath & Beyond) remains one of the most expensive stocks in our coverage universe, and appears priced for perfection at a time when most retailers are struggling,” Thomas told investors. “While (they’re) clearly a best-in-class retailer, we believe expectations going into earnings in the next several quarters will be set high. Given our cautious view on the consumer, lofty valuation for the stock, and high expectations from investors, we continue to have a negative view on shares.”

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc 2Q Earnings Optimistic

According to Friedman, Billings, Ramsey analyst Stephen Chick, Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. is not performing as well as expected. He gave the home retailer a rating of “Underperform” and a $26.50 per-share price target.

“We think that Bed Bath & Beyond’s financial struggles (under way since 3Q05) are more structural than the general consensus realizes,” Chick wrote Friday in a research note.

Bed Bath & Beyond has opened a 34,000-square-foot store in the Bayview Glen Shopping Centre in Ontario,Canda. The furniture giants have also launched a Canadian website which can be accessed at http://www.bedbathandbeyond.ca/.

At the event BB&B ceo Steven Temares remarked, “We are excited to open our first store in Canada and to share our longstanding traditions of exceptional customer service, great value and a broad assortment of merchandise with the GTA,” a reference to the Greater Toronto Area.

Here’s an interesting explanation of what comforters and duvet covers really are:

A comforter is a bed covering that typically falls 3/4 of the way down the sides of your bed, slightly past the point where the mattress and boxspring meet. The size of your bed will determine the size of the comforter you will need to purchase.
