The American Pregnancy Association have stressed on the importance of sleep for expecting mothers for a healthy pregnancy. They have listed down some suggestions to  combat insomnia during pregnancy and here is a list:

* Find a comfortable and — perhaps a new — sleep position.
* Relax before bedtime with a massage or a warm bath.
* Keep your room at a cool and comfortable temperature, and play relaxing music or nature sounds.
* Try relaxation techniques before you sleep.
* Get some exercise every day. Be sure to ask your doctor about what’s acceptable.
* If you have trouble falling asleep, get out of bed and have a snack or read a book, then try going back to bed when you’re sleepy.

My hatred for needles is pretty intense hence I don’t know what to make of the Dreamate Sleep Inducer, which claims to help insomniacs with their sleeping cycles. Just strap this weird contraption 30 minutes before bedtime and let it use acupuncture to massage the “sleeping golden triangle” set of pressure points. Lofty claims? We agree!
