The growing number of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) that has been heard from the world today has been alarming. The latest casualty is a 4 year old girl who was surrendered to a foster home. She dies from suffocation in the bunk bed where she was lying on and the social services groups are getting the heat from it.

Apparently there was obvious overlooking and disregard for properly monitoring children placed in foster homes and this has been something that people from Augusta County that want to be resolved. Was it really death on a bunk bed or something else?

Bunk beds are the weirdest way to die of SIDS. Further, SIDS has been known to be a cause for children sleeping alongside their parents. But in a foster home? There is perhaps something more than meets the eye.

It is indeed starting to look like the year of the recalling as most products have been placed in scrutiny and issues. We have all heard about the famous Mattel recall and some bed recalling. But the Jubee Bunk Bed is the latest addition to the long list of product recalls going on all over the world.

Apparently, this Jubee Bunk Bed, which started distribution in 2004 has not fully complied with the safety standards set forth with bed design architecture. Parents need to make sure that their children beds are secure and safe to avoid tragedy like in the case of the Huffman family. The Huffman’s grand niece, Carmon Huffman was suffocated to death when her bunk bed collapsed. Carmon’s twin brother occupied the upper bunk and somehow he fell through. This resulted in the death of Carom who suffered from signs of suffocation.

“It absolutely ripped out my heart. I just hope somehow, some way that somebody can learn from what we’re going through and to realized that beds can be a death trap,” said Huffman, who hopes parents will take note to check beds and make sure they are secure.
