It looks like mobile housing is becoming more and more fancy and modern with world class designs and what not. Check out some of the really cool stuff on mobile urban architecture at weburbanist.

The GMC PAD was designed as an alternative to the financial problems of fixed living, particularly in areas with high land prices such as Southern California. Others have proposed it would be useful as an alternative FEMA-type emergency residence. Sustainability is, of course, of great concern in something that is in effect a souped-up kind of advanced mobile home. This portable living unit was therefore designed a diesel-electric hybrid. It also comes equipped with photovalic cells that charge onboard batteries, increasing the necessary time between refuels to weeks or even months.

I was at the Maker Faire last weekend and got to meet Caressa Allen, designer of cool linens including for beds and pillows.

She brought along her cool linens that we mentioned couple weeks ago including the cool Skull pillow shams!

Then, we saw the claddagh ring design, which is a symbol of love, friendship, and loyalty. (the bottom picture)

Check out this Area Bed, a Scandinavian style furniture. I really like going into a Scandinavian furniture place these days, they got some really cool stuff like sofas that have built-in laptop trays. We will have to find some soon.

Area Home is a NY based company that specializes in bedding and home accessories with a Scandinavian flair. In addition to some terrific bedding patterns, they also make a great bed and matching tables.
