What would toilets look like in the future? Apparently we have our own independent interpretations but until something concrete comes up, here is a rendition on the part of Dave Hakkens. For his part, he believes that toilets will be lighter and stronger while coming in new shapes that should keep untoward “splashes” in control.

His toilet version is made from corian and cleans using 8 different points with pressurized jets. This way, cleaners can be avoided so that contamination issues can be put in check. Other than that, the Toilet 2.0 comes with a built-in air freshener and makes use of grey water to clean the pipe system behind the walls and clean water used for flushing.

Here is another potential lamp design that should change up your home in a hurry. The Cirrada Octopus lamp is actually a thesis project made to help perk up a home’s indoors. Markus Johansson from the School of Design and crafts College of Design at the University of Gothenburg is the brains behind the unique looking lamp, something that should add flare and class for homes, contemporary to modern.

The Octopus Lamp is made of Corian and projects a weightless make thanks to the tentacle legs that seem to be tiptoeing. Place it by the bedside table or perhaps a coffee table, this is one lamp that should appeal to people who want to improve room atmosphere and ambiance.
