I simply love the Smart Coaster DIY project since I have burnt my lips too many times to count while drinking coffee. With a learning sensor from http://www.aniomagic.com/learning_sensors.php Aniomagic, a smart coaster was built that monitors the temperature of the  drink: green means it’s just right, red means it’s way too hot, and white means that it requires heating.

I like my coffee strong however I am not too sure if I want the human anatomy printed on my cup even if it’s artistic. Joep van Lieshout artistically interprets the four systems of the human body involved in drinking coffee as each cup is decorated with a symbolic representation of one of the systems and each saucer is ringed with colorful little men.

If you liked these textiles cups then head over here for instructions on how to make them at home. Personally I found the cups quirky and fun but wonder if they are a tad impractical since they can be used only once.

I love the mugs which I found on the Up To You Toronto website. Say goodbye to those dreaded ring marks as the base of the cups have a nice floral pattern! Isn’t it neat?

Here is a fun way to brighten up those dreary mornings. The on and off cup highlights how vital the ubiquitous black coffee is to our systems. As soon as your pour coffee or a hot beverage in the cup, the “off” changes to “on” and the mug also changes it color.
