When presented bare, the furniture pieces from Yaroslav Galant seem to be as ordinary as the ones we see from other designers. However the twist comes in the fine embroideries that they come in, something made from DuPont Corian. Included in the collection are table and bench designs which combine ancient traditions with modern technology to produce breathtaking furniture creations that will certainly be something to look up to when perking up homes. With the line of furniture that come embroidered with Ukranian patterns, the result is a homely furniture line that should make any home as comfy as they should be. With small holes on the surface, the fabric materials allow colorful threads to be woven into thus producing masterful patterns and designs that breath back life into the benches and tables of the said furniture collection line.
In what has to be one of the wackiest lamps I have ever seen, the Surface Tension Lamp should be something that kids are going to enjoy. The lamp applies practically the same concept that a bubble-blowing process does, something that will never ever have a fixed shape. The lamp was designed by Booo! Studio. They actually requested designers to come up with lamps that would cost under $100 to assemble and in the end, it was the Surface Tension Lamp that came out from it. The special edition lamp makes use of an emphemeral bubble as the focus point. The bubbles slowly inflate and eventually pop to which a new bubble is blown and made. Not only is the Surface Tension Lamp unusual, it should be something to keep you entertained as well as the people in your home. Check out the video: Via The Surface Tension Lamp

And with this sculptural reception desk from Erhan and Mustafa Afsaroglu, offices are bound to get raves thanks mainly to the sculptural finish that seems to be the difference for this one. The desk was designed as part of the showroom renovation of the Prestige Group furniture brand in Nicosia, North Cyprus, which certainly does carry some twisting attention that should await visitors who are coming in to the place. According to the designers: “Inspired by the Besparmak Mountains in North Cyprus, with their enduring and historic qualities, the reception desk sits in the heart of the lobby, welcoming visitors in. Seriously, the desk does look a bit eerie at first. But if you have an eye for art, you will certainly admire this desk for a slight change of interior in an odd but artistic way.
Though I feel that this Louis XV Goes to Sparta Chair leaves a lot to be desired as far as comfiness is concerned, still it can be something worth having at home. The chair is a marble-inspired piece from designers Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman and stands to offer you a Greek god-like feel when you find yourself sitting on it. However, do not be deceived at the look of the Louis XV Goes to Sparta Chair. Rather, the design is a deceptive looking piece made from printed material using 100% silk to cover a polyurethane foam structure. A cool chair to have in your home, especially if you talk about wanting to pull a few gags for people really wanting to sit on something smooth and comfortable. These are the Balloon X Lamps which were designed by Dan Yeffet and Lucie Koldova for BROKIS. The lamps are part of a collection, featuring a red dish that is inserted into a simple glass cover with the cords situated beneath the said dish. Overall, the lamp intends to look like balloons that shed out light, perfect for setting the mood inside rooms. This is what Natuzzi actually had in mind, holding a competition to see how the chair could be “reinvented”. Among the improved versions that came out included this one from Davide Bianchi. He came out with a cream colored urban creation of the music chair, paired with some golden screws that enhanced its new look. This is the Acoustable Coffee Table, a high-tech coffee tablet that comes with a built-in sound system. The table was designed by Jerome Spriet and Wolfgang Bregentzer which combines a coffee tablet and a sound system into one piece. The coffee table offers an easy way to integrate music more seamlessly into daily life. Positioned between the table’s base and top surface is the sound system that includes Teac speakers, woofer and stereo amplifier with USB and iPod connection ports. There are USB adaptors within the table that can be extended to hook into PCs, iPods and phones. For pricing it seems that you have to touch base with the designers for this one.
With the Delicious Wave Microwave, food will always be warm and great to consume from thereon. However, this invention from designers Kyu Hyun Lee and Hae Won Jo remains a concept and may be something that will be soon carried by Electrolux should they find a way to create them. It can double as a lamp and hovers above the dining table as a light fixture and can be pulled down to cover a plate of food to heat it. A neat idea and hopefully something that will materialize.

Rocking chairs are a thing of the past and when it comes to technology, you are sure that most make use of modern day materials. However, make use of a vintage wooden toy car and gift it with the ability to transform into a rocking chair and you may just end up getting attention.

And for this modern ability to transform, a hefty price has to be paid by its makers. Designers Hans Brockhage and Erwin Andra are asking $740 for it, steep but sensible considering the medieval look for this multi-functioning toy or seat, whatever you may want to call it.

And it has likewise been notable that they are made into good home design elements, often arranged in a way that can really brighten up a home. So if you are looking for a home brightener, bring the beauty of butterflies conceptualized for better ambiance in your home. It can certainly hit the spot and make your home a whole lot artistic and wiser to live on. Designers have brought the ethereal butterfly indoors, using it as a motif to brighten homes. The creatures are decoupaged onto coffee tables and lampshades, laser-printed on fabrics, painted and etched onto china and carafes. Some are fashioned into mobiles and hanging balls. Consumers seem to have shifted their attention towards bamboo as well and apparently it is safe to say that bamboo is slowly becoming a resource to help address home needs and furniture solutions.
For people like me who work at home, nothing beats the idea of having small yet conventionally multi-purpose furniture at home. Desks for example need not be like the traditional large executive office tables to which occupies quite a big amount of space. At homes, you surely do not have the luxury of space considering that a home is normally for a lot of other furniture and stuff like beds, sofas, couches and dining tables. If you are in the market for something viable when it comes to turning to furniture that can be easily fit into your home, you may want to check out furniture ideas like this table designed by Magnussen Home. Say goodbye to the old style furniture you have always seen and welcome traditional and wise furniture ideas we are being exposed to today. Most furniture collectors have a fascination with multifunctional pieces, especially those with movable parts. And there are plenty of them to collect. Since the 18th century, furniture designers have been producing small tables and desks that may look like occasional or decorative pieces but that can be transformed, almost magically, into something with much greater functionality. But while these home add-ons are surely available in most furniture shops, nothing beats being original and apparently most of them come from a certain point of origin like perhaps workshops. It is through these gatherings where most eco-friendly and unique designs originate. System Reload is one such gathering wherein you can see the gathering of modern designers where new and alluring home enhancements can really brighten up your home with the eco-friendly touch at that. Urban people nowadays long for things that are natural and green, with eco-friendly designs becoming especially popular. “System Reload”, an international network of designers for sustainability, takes green thinking to another level at their London workshop.
Interior design ideas for your home may be varied but if there is something that is really hot and drawing interest these days is the fact that green initiatives towards proper eco-friendly interior designs made possible by popular designers such as Kelly LaPlante. True, we can always turn towards own ideas as far as improving green home ideas based on what we have been gathering on the web but molding them all together in one whole package is the job of socially responsible people such as this green-dedicated interior designer. “I’ve always been surrounded by people who were a little bit altruistic … and to have this always around you, I just found there was an imbalance with my work,” says Ms. LaPlante, who started her career in San Francisco. “Interior design can be so wasteful, you know? You go in and rip everything out and make things that aren’t necessarily being made by people paid a living wage. … I didn’t want to stop being a designer, but I didn’t want to feel nasty about it, either.” (Source) Dallas News A Touch of Green Interiors with Kelly LaPlante

A home may not always be complete without the traditional sofa and depending on the design preference, it could be costly. But a good alternative is to perhaps contract good designers and furniture makers to create a copycat image to which you may have to pay less. There are a lot of upholstery makers and designers out there who can get the job done and among them include the likes of Ameer Radwan who manages Couch, a shop located in Fremont. With more than 200 custom made models in their wing, you are bound to find a sofa that may be familiar but costs less. If not, you can perhaps ask them to make you one based on the couch or sofa that you are aching to have but unfortunately cannot afford. Radwan is proud to be able to provide eco-friendly couches as well. He tells me that to be considered eco-friendly, a couch must be made with Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood, organic latex instead of standard polyurethane foam, and water-based glues and stains on any exposed wood, as well as sustainable, non-chemically treated fabrics.
Today we see most homes installing the high-end home theatre setups and though it may seem to look crazy to find a home full of speakers, you can go beyond the standard ones with concept and designed speakers to get the room jumpy. There are various speaker manufacturers that go beyond the standard speakrs. Sherwood Forlee for instance offers Speak-er with their bubble-shaped speakers. Symbio Designs offers the Alpha Speakers offering a creative design that is sure be a hit with lovers of music or simply add them to your usual 5.1 Home Theatre Setup. Home audio speakers are designed to sound great, but many designers take it to the next level and create something so sexy that people can’t help but stare. They know what they do, because in these days a product that looks good has better chances to be sold. These creative speaker designs that you’re gonna see in this post combine both style and (hopefully) function, and we can say that they look better than they sound.
Even though there are some slight differences among bed manufacturers, many of them still look very similar. Yes, one may have an extra curve here, or a different twist there, but the majority of beds look fairly similar to each other. What, then, are those who are looking for something completely unique to do? After all, not everyone wants their bedroom to look like everyone else’s, and many people are desperately seeking a bed that will be unique without being too wild and crazy. Hillsdale Furniture is known for having designers who work day and night to make beds that are sturdy, beautiful, and above all else, unique. They especially love to take classic beds and throw a twist on them, making them familiar and yet strangely different at the same time. The Ocean Park Bed is the ideal example of their ingenuity. They have taken a classic country style bed and thrown a whole new spin on it. This metal bed has a spindled effect on the posts, with classic ball finials on the top.

It comes complete with an aged black finish, and some antique brass effects are thrown in to keep it a bit more unique. What really makes this bed different, however, are the inverted lines on the headboard and footboard. These small differences make the bed very unique and desirable for anyone who is looking for a bed that is different than anything else out there.

Sure they will have their issue of using to many incandescent bulbs that are the contributing elements towards aura and ambiance but the thing is also thinking that they are not the usual things turned on everyday. This is to emphasize on the issue that chandeliers encourage wasting electricity. But whether they are lighted on or not, you can just feel the difference that they brought before and will continue to do so today for homes who still acknowledge the difference in home atmosphere that these classy chandeliers bring to any home. Chandeliers have made a shimmering return to cool. Virtually all revamped restaurants and hotel bars are dotted with ornate cut-glass, crystal and plastic light fixtures. Cheap and chic versions are available at big box stores and then there are the singular creations of designers like Arik Levy.
