It is not only the bookstores who are cramming of preparing the back-to-school rush for students. Even the bed companies such as Bed Bath and Beyond have their share of trying to provide solutions to students going off to college. This stems form the fact that in their normal dormitories, they will not have the luxury of space in the process. They have to find the right stuff to fit into their dorms and with this program, “Equip your Space” from Bed Bath and Beyond, you are sure to see a handful of students trying to find bed and furniture fit for their unfurnished dorms. Bed Bath & Beyond this month began back-to-college merchandising while many secondary schools were still in session. The company reprised its “Equip Your Space” campaign with ceiling banners and shelf signs, along with a college checklist distributed via tearpads on endcaps, during the week of June 9 — becoming the first retailer to (unofficially) roll out back-to-school activity this year. The campaign broke in Chicago before many school districts had wrapped up the 2007-2008 academic year. (Source) In-Store Marketing Equip Your Space with Bed Bath and Beyond

Dorms in colleges are supposed to make life easier for students. However, this includes ensuring that the dormitories that they are staying in have adequate space to ensure that they are not too cramped up. Anyone would love to have a big bed for his own. But the thing is, the limitation of space may not allow it. There are other things to consider such as the study table and other usual dormitory furniture which on their own are supposed to be as compact as possible. There is no issue with wanting complete and general respite. The problem is dorms are only temporary shelters while teens are in college. After that they are out and perhaps will stay at home for the early duration of their career.
There are some people who would resort towards renting dorms that can be nearer to their office or schools. This is common anywhere for people who would rather invest money in having a more strategic location rather than risk on time when it comes to traveling from their home, which can be distant. Students would often love to live in dorms outside their usual homes since it also allows them to take a slight role of being independent. But overall, making a dorm as comfortable as possible is another thing. It will not be similar to large scale buying where expensive and large furniture will be up for consideration. Miniature sized furniture and appliances that will fit well into the allocated region are also a reality. Sure it will be exciting to live in dorms. But the real challenge is on how to transform dorms into suitable living places for people temporarily living out of their actual homes.
