Available on Hammacher, the  metal tree has 240 colored LEDs encased in plastic five-leaf blossoms, casting an orange Halloween glow and the LEDs are rated for 25,000 hours and the branches and trunk are made from weatherproof metal. The tree also comes with an integrated stand and four stakes, which ensure a proper grip.

For the people who love to drink a lot, here is a table specially made for you. It is called the Custom Beer Pong Table, actually designed for a drinking game of sorts. The table was designed by Burr Ridge-based Etsy ChippewaFive, something made for the college students.

The table features a seamless poplar wood exterior, red plexiglass triangles lit from underneath by LEDs and detachable rear panels for easy maintenance. If you are interested, you can check it out over at Etsy for $750.

Benjamin Hubert offers another potential and portable lighting solution for the home owners with the Crane Lamp. This is an adjustable lamp that is inspired by industrially engineered metal structures and equipment.

Here is one cooky lamp you may want to check out. It is called Huey the Color Copying lamp, a lamp that has the power to change its colors. The lamp picks up the colors of the surface where it will be placed, offering a glow equal to the ground where it would be placed.

It seems that the Huey runs on multiple LEDs of different colors. It will cycle through the various colors in his spectrum if left alone, and he can be “locked” in a specific color if squeezed.

It seems like any standard mirror we see these days but it really comes with a twist. It comes with dotted lighting thanks to LED technology and is activated once switched on. The Mirror Chandelier comes from Designer Anonymous and features a series of LEDs that light-up to form the image of a hanging chandelier when switched on.

Not a bad addition to any home and it only costs $840. Of course, having the dotted shaped chandelier does negate its use for providing reflection but then again you can always make the mirror secondary for some alternative lighting for your home.

GumDesign Lighting Concepts

Change your room ambiance in a second with this trendy fish tank. The biOrb SpyOrb is a generally unremarkable spherical eight gallon fish tank of the self-contained variety, meaning that besides changing filters every once in a while you don’t really have to do much.

What makes it neat are the accessories, like the biOrb Timer ($37) which will flash its LEDs at you to remind you when it’s time to do feed your fish or do maintenance on the tank.

You can also get a special little LED lighting unit ($82) that cycles through different colors and brightnesses depending on what time of day it is. “I mounted two garden lights on the roof with wire extensions of the leds brought into the house. Just the solar cell unit with built-in batteries is on the roof. DIY: CRT Flowers

Light up your fridge and brighten up your kitchen by making Magnetic Refrigerator Lights. Most of what you need can be found at local hardware and electronics parts stores or from online vendors.

Parts:

-Super Shield conductive nickel paint
This can be found at electronics parts stores. It’s usually used to add RF shielding to plastic cases. We will be using it because it’s electrically conductive.

-1/4″ copper tape used for circuit board repair (optional)
If conductive paint can’t be found, this may be a possible substitute. It may be a good idea to get some anyway as a way to repair any future scratches or chips in the conductive paint.

-Spray Paint
I used Krylon Fusion For Plastic because it sticks to almost anything, doesn’t require a primer and has a nice finish.

-10mm LEDs in quantities and colors of choice
I used 20 LEDs of each Red, Green, Blue, Yellow and White. These can be bought online.

-330 Ohm surface-mount resistors
Get one for each 2.4 Volt LED (Typically red, orange, yellow and sometimes green LEDs are 2.4 Volts). The 3.6 Volt LEDs (typically blue, white, UV and true green) do not require resistors.

-One 4.5 Volt, 500 milliamp AC power supply
By using AC, the polarity of the LEDs won’t matter. They will light up whichever way they are played onto the grid. This also reduces power consumption because the LEDs will run at a 50% duty cycle.

-1/8″ diameter x 1/16″ NdFeB Nickel plated disc magnets
Get two for each LED. These can be found online.

-1/4″ diameter x 1/16″ NdFeB Nickel plated disc magnets
I used six – two for attaching the power source to the fridge, and four more for making magnetic jumper wires to bridge the gap between the door and the side of the fridge.

-5 minute epoxy
Get the kind that you mix from clear and yellow tubes.

-Masking tape

-1/4″ Quilter’s tape
This is just masking tape but 1/4 inch wide, the thinnest tape I could find. You can find this in craft stores. Ideally, you want tape that is just slightly wider than the diameter of the magnets used on the LEDs.

-Solder
