In what seems to be more like an art work of sorts, the Tensegrity Lights were made as near replicas of some 1960s sculptures made by Kenneth Nelson. Although they were made on a smaller scale, a slight modification in the form of some fluorescent bulbs were used which are perhaps the new focus of the modified lighting sculptures.

A network of cables connect each end of the lengthy light bulbs to offer intricate forms which remain secure by tension and compression. The results are two clusters of glowing bars that seem to hold impossible arrangements, apparently fragile but structurally sound. The illuminating rods look suspended in the air, causing the wires to blend into the background.

Qisdesign offers lamps that seemingly look like toys or plastic decors but are in reality lamps that were meant for providing illumination in a funky kind of way. The Lamp Aurelia carry a neon-like appearance that makes them look like floating jellyfish that should properly render the ideal lighting meant for any area.

Here is another lighting solution for your home. The Osram Orbeos LED Panels are disc-shaped objects that will emit light at temperatures of 2,800K. It measures just 80 mm wide and 2.1mm in thin. They are just concepts for now and on when they would be available is anyone’s guess.
