This strange contraption is called Sunball lounge chair. The chair has been designed by Ris and Selldorf and is considered are since it belongs to circa 1969-1971. The sunball was made as an outdoor model for sunbathing and relaxation. It has two movable spherical shells, which can be opened and closed.

Sunball Lounge Chair

Metrofarm has some great beds in their catalogue and we are partial to Walnut veneered bed. The bed design is reminiscent of a giant lounge chair and it comes in two versions. One opens to one side or and the second version opens to two sides. The angle at the headrest allows you to go into an optimal chill position. The beds have custom made extra long mattresses.

“We had performed an investigation about the experiences the human beings have before birth. This took us to meet some techniques of recreation of this natural situation … As a result of this deep investigation, this lounge chair design came almost naturally – it is able to hold a person and give the possibility to connect with himself …” Weighs 70 Pounds (32 Kg). The seat’s leather comes in multiple colors. The outside sphere plastic surface is fiberglass and is finished with coat-gel which helps to erase scratches using polish paste.”

The Trix is designed by Piero Lissoni, and made in Italy by Kartell. It is made of expanded polyurethane and upholstered in three-dimensional woven technical fabric in a choice of black or white. The Trix is composed of three cushions of different sizes linked by an elegant system of rubber bands. It can be an ottoman for 2 people, or turn into a cozy bed, or even a comfy lounge chair or a welcoming armchair, that cen be easily transformed with a simple rotating movement.
