If the name would be something new, it is because it is another term given towards wallbeds, something that we usually see in apartments or compressed residential units that need to economize space. Overall, they would be not immediately seen for the matter that they can be hidden so well that walls cover them up initially.
Wallbeds have taken a backseat today. They are not immediately known today since they have been replaced by new innovative bed manufacturers in the form of sofa beds. While wallbeds may not be that popular today, there are still some consumers that look towards them. They are indeed space savers but their disadvantage is that they are mainly geared towards simply sleep and naps.
Sofa beds cater towards allowing people to relax even during sitting positions. This is one significant difference that makes them a preference over the usual Murphy beds. Overall, it would all depend on the concept of the people behind the interior design. That is the complement and fit it would have to the entire setup.
