I am not sure how many times we have seen of ingenious things to do as far as creative furnishings for the home is concerned but the Luce Liquida Lamps is nevertheless something ideal and lush for any home setting. Basically taking the principle of lighting in a bottle, this creative masterpiece from In-Es should be something that would start some new trends and improbable creations as far as honing up the in-home ambiance using the unlikely stuff.

The lamps are made of a unique material called nebulite which accounts for its moon-like texture. Luce Liquida reportedly stands for liquid light when translated but the obvious twist for this lamp is how the folks over there were able to insert light into this wine-shaped bottle considering its bottle-neck opening.

Kwang-wi Park and Eun-ji Lim have designed the perfect bar accessory for wine connoisseurs, but unfortunately it is still in concept stage. The Digital Cork may have a simple name but it features some really advance technology, as it includes a  sensor and relays information like temperature, expiry date of the wine  etc in conduction with a Smartphone app.

Here is an idea for the people looking at eco-friendly ideas for more comfort and seating solutions in their home. The idea comes from Phase Design who offers the Life After Corkage Bar Stool + Ottoman. This promises to be a trendy bar stool solution, made up of 1,200 wine and champagne corks topped off with a vinyl polyester mesh to keep it all together.

The idea seems perfect, especially for the fond drinkers. Rather than throw away corks, put them into good use. If you don’t have the time for it, I am sure that Phase Design is all but willing to sell you one for your in-home needs.

Life After Corkage Bar Stool + Ottoman

Now that Christmas is just round the corner, why not make something decorative when you host your dinner parties? Check out this  decorative wine glass holder that will add a sense of style to your table decor.

There are a few fundamental dimensions that should not be deviated from without careful consideration to the impact they might have on the wine holders functionality.

1. Bottle Neck Hole:

This is a where the holder will fit onto the wine bottle. I’ve used a hole 30-32mm in diameter. This will fit any standard wine bottle. Make the hole too small and it won’t fit onto the bottle, make it too large and the holder slides too far down the bottle neck. This can be changed if you have a particular bottle you need to use.

2. Glass Stem Hole:

This is where the glass will sit in the holder. I’ve used a 14mm hole, you can go larger but this will affect the design of the hook later on.

The centre of this hole should be 80mm from the centre of the bottle neck hole. If you have a bottle with a larger outer diameter or wider glasses, then this dimension can be increased.

3. The Hook:

This is formed by creating a 10mm gap in the glass stem hole. The hook faces towards the bottle so that the glass “falls” into the hook and not out of it. You can create the gap by making a 10mm hole with it’s centre 5mm from the centre of the glass stem hole.

DIY: Wine Glass Chandelier

We are all aware that some furniture designs normally originate from creativity and resourcefulness. Apparently, barrels which are familiar to us as containers for perhaps wine are overlooked once their contents are consumed. Where are they to go? For sure, dismantling them and perhaps making them firewood for some may be ideal but in both counts, you are hitting the garbage and the pollution problem if these are the actual things you have in mind.

But if you are like Jonathan Black, who has the knack for transforming barrels into something useful and unique, maybe you too can think of a good design and use for barrels often referred only as storage.

A bistro table or a hanging pot rack? A barrel head serving tray or a lazy Susan?

A carved clock or a wall cabinet?

“I’ve been doing this so long now I can take a barrel, look at that barrel, walk around it and look at all the different staves on the top and the bottom and determine exactly what product that barrel is going to make — how it is best served,” he claims.
