Bed Box Springs

Beds and mattresses are not spared from the usual wear and tear. But while many would want to solve the issue by immediately considering buying new ones, it may not be the wisest thing for people who want to spend wisely.

Our old beds and mattresses can still do. You can always just consider replacing the dilapidated part. In these cases, it is the bed basics such as the box springs. It is indeed a better option considering that it can save a lot. A word of caution though, be sure the bed part is compatible. Trying to use something different may entirely be dangerous and provide you discomfort.

On the sales room floor you may be told that the mattress and box spring are designed to work together. Indeed, the material cover on the new mattress and older box spring won’t match, and, depending on the mattress you are buying, it might be inadequately supported by the old box spring. You might also hear that you must include a box spring to protect the mattress warranty. But be sure you read just what the warranty covers.

  • Hmmm - ok, but it's not easy as a home repair job. I know because I once cut myself on some very sharp bits I didn't expect when reaching in among the springs. And sewing up the fabric again is a challenge. Professional repairs are a better way to go in my view, if they are more economic than replacement.
  • I agree... customers so often tend to ignore the warranty terms, they just get too happy looking at the new mattress. Often the salesman adds a line to make the customer extra smiley, "Ma'am it comes with warranty of 10 years...". Next thing you see, a credit card coming out of the hand bag.

I have warned people who come to me for mattress buying advice on this matter again and again but I still get to hear more people crying over the same.

And yes i also agree, changing the mattress is not the best solution.
