Egyptian Writing Tables from France

by brian yalung on Monday, August 25th, 2008

For people who have wondered about the quality of tables that have been designed after Egyptian reigns, there are designs offered in the market today that can bring you closer to them. But the catch here is a hefty price of around Dh645,000 to won one, not an ideal amount for people who invest on a wise budget.

Now unless you are an avid antique and rare find collector, this is something you may not even think of getting. For one, who can spend that much for a piece of writing table? Probably the millionaires but then again owning one would be restricted to bragging rights rather than brightening your home.

This rectangular, 30 inch high and 48 inch wide table is made of ebonised wood and is set with gilt bronze and crystal, while the top is veneered in shagreen.

This piece was made by Maison Jansen, one of the most important decorating firms in France.
