Our Storage Bed (see picture at right) features a natural rice tatami mat on top of the storage bed. The tatami mat is very firm, heavy, and it is two inches thick. These Asian rice mats are sold separately. You don’t need them unless you want that particular look.
Storage beds are a comfortable 15.25″ high. This bed is made of a solid Indonesian hardwood called Ramen. It’s a very sturdy bed. The slats are designed to support our foam mattresses but can be used with your mattress. This storage bed comes with a pair of drawers. The side opposite the drawers is a solid wood panel. You have the option to order a second set of drawers—this set will replace the solid wood side, so you’ll have a set of two drawers on both sides of the bed. (Please see the “Extra drawer availability” chart below.) These beds only ship on a pallet.
